When you’re working a character do you really dig deep into them? Knowing every corner of their soul? Or do you just get the basics down, and see what happens along the way?
There are so many ways one can pull a character together. So many sheets one could fill with details. So many books on different ways you should handle it, but really, it’s all on you, you as the story teller, as to how far you want to go.
I always try to pull every detail out of them, to find myself writing and rewriting, because they were not who I thought they should be, they became who they needed to be.
So go, listen, breath life into those people who help you build your story. They’re in need of escaping your mind.
